Automated Printing systems, also known as “wall printer”, “mural machine” or “wall art machine”, is a kind of inkjet printer that can print directly on the wall or other vertical surfaces with high precision.
However, wall printers have only been around for a few years. As these high-tech products have hundreds of parts, assembling and debugging them requires our engineers to spend hours/days/weeks/months to complete. Printer users also need to receive several hours of operation training from our senior engineers to grasp the machine. Otherwise, even a small problem can lead to the printer becoming unusable!
Common Problems with Automated Printing Systems or Wall Printers
Wall printers not printing is a common issue many customers may encounter during use. If your Magic wall printer does not print, you can troubleshoot from the following causes:
- Check the ink cartridge levels. Low ink can cause lighter colours, streaks, or distortions. Magic Wall Printing machines come with a low ink alarm that will notify you when ink levels drop below 1/5.
- If the machine has not been used for more than 6 months, it is recommended to replace the ink before use.
- Improper installation of the ink cartridges or print heads can lead to ink supply issues and cause incorrect colours.
- A broken print head may lead to colour differences.
- Columns not properly docked.
- Uneven walls causing the head sensor to move back and forth. Try adjusting the sensitivity and reducing the printing speed.
- Clean the track before printing, as debris can cause the machine to shake.
- The print head being too far from the wall. Ensure the head is about 3mm from the wall before printing.
- Low-quality images being printed at large scales.
- Aging print heads may result in decreased accuracy.
Magic wall printers can produce prints that last over 10 years indoors without fading. Outdoor prints can last 3-6 years without a protective coating.
